It may not be possible to use the regular monitors that are not compatible with night vision equipment. During night operations where NVIS is used we need special night vision LCD monitors that can be dimmed so that it does not affect the functioning of the NVIS equipment. NVIS refers to Night Vision Imaging System and this is used for surveillance and other purposes where there is very little or absolutely no light around the object of surveillance. NVIS boosts photons from the night scene to about 2000 times. When NVIS goggles are used the environment in which the one using it should also be without any light or absolutely low levels of light. If the luminescence level is high then it will affect the NVIS badly and the vision of the one who is using it.
